What is the sediment at the bottom of the oil?

Argan oil may become cloudy or harden when the temperature drops. This is due to the characteristics of argan oil and does not affect its quality.

The main reasons why argan oil becomes cloudy or hardened are as follows:

  • High purity oils tend to solidify when temperatures drop below 5-10°C.
  • Unsaturated fatty acids (linoleic acid and oleic acid) solidify at low temperatures, and some of them remain as floating matter or sediment.

If it hardens or becomes cloudy, return it to room temperature or place it in a hot water bath to return it to its original state.

Store argan oil in a cool place away from direct sunlight. Although it is resistant to oxidation, it is not completely immune to the effects of light and heat, so proper storage is important.
